  • Home Warranty
  • Redirect Your Mail
  • Schedule Time Off
  • Ask the Little Questions

Moving into a new house can be extremely exciting, but it’s also a very stressful experience for many people. If you’re going to make your move as painless as possible, then it’s best to do a little planning and make sure you’ve got everything in order.

These five tips will help get you ready and ensure you have a much smoother move.

Removals

Moving day can be very stressful, but at least if you’ve got a good removals company, you know you’re in good hands. Booking your removal company isn’t something you should leave to the last minute, so make sure you’re on top of it.

Make sure you do your research and find an experienced removal company that’s going to make your life as easy as possible. This is an important job, so don’t just get the cheapest quote; make sure you’re going for quality.

Home Warranty

Maintaining a house isn’t always cheap, and sometimes you can encounter some unexpected costs. One way you can protect against this is by insuring your appliances with a home warranty.

Good home warranties will cover you if anything goes wrong with your major appliances, saving you money and ensuring they’re fixed quickly. We often don’t think about home warranties until something goes wrong, but they can save you a huge amount when you do need them.

Redirect Your Mail

We might not get as much mail as we used to, but we still rely on it to some extent for important documents.

It’s important you still get your mail even when you’ve moved house, so make sure to set up a redirect that forwards it on to your new address. It might mean you end up opening more bills, but it’s worth it to keep on top of things.

Schedule Time Off

It’s amazing how time-consuming moving house can be. It’s much easier to get everything sorted if you schedule some time off either side of the move.

It may be inconvenient to take your precious time off and spend it on moving house, but you may well find it makes a big difference in the long run. Trying to coordinate everything while still working a busy schedule is a nightmare, and it’s not one you need to endure.

Moving house can be a big deal, so it’s a good idea to take some of the stress off yourself by scheduling time off.

Ask the Little Questions

There are lots of little things that are nice to know before you move in. For example, you might want to know where the fuse box is, where to find the stopcock, what days the bins are collected, who is the energy provider, and many others.

Of course, you’re bound to find the answers to these questions sooner or later, but it’s much easier if you ask ahead of time. The more you know, the easier your transition into the new house will be.
