Before moving forward, it is crucial to go through some don’ts that should not be performed at any cost. It is recommended not to soak blinds in the bath. Moreover, one should also not use a vacuum to clean the blinds without proper padding, as it can damage your blinds. It has been seen that many people put the fabric blinds in the washing machine. Though it may seem to be cleaned initially over time, it will cause the material to wear down and fade away. Keeping these golden rules in mind, we will guide you through how you keep blinds dust-free.

Use Of Socks To Clean Venetian Blinds

It is of no surprise that Venetian blinds made from aluminum or PVC catch dust in no time. One can always opt for microfibre but opting for a clean cotton sock is a much smarter choice. Firstly, one should dip the sock into warm water along with a cleaning solution. After that, the hose shall wringed until it is completely dried. After doing so, one shall place their hand inside the soc and should start at the top and work down to the bottom and clean each slat on both sides simultaneously from left to right. One should keep in mind that this method is not recommended for wooden Venetian blinds.

Keep Your Blinds All Wrapped Up Whileshifting House?

As discussed earlier, blinds can easily catch dust, so one must be extra cautious while moving house. While moving house, you have to take them down, walk them out of the house and then put them in a dirty van. During this procedure, it is quite apparent that the blinds may be covered in dust. Due to this reason, it is recommended to keep the wrapped in a cling film. It will indeed protect them against dirt and stop them from unraveling.

Refresh Your Wooden Blinds

Removing dust from Venetian blinds can be a bit tiring but is nowhere trickythan removing suborn grime on wooden blinds. One should not forget that the wood is porous, and if an individual isn’t careful enough, it may leave stains during the cleaning process on their blinds. However, if a person follows this simple trick, they will clean the dust off their wooden blinds in no time. Few drops of washing liquid should be added to the warm water and a tablespoon of baking soda. The microfiber cloth shall be dunked into the bowl and then wrung to the point until it’s almost dried. After doing so, one should apply normal pressure on the wood, wiping each slat gently. After completion, the window shall be kept open for some time so that the moisture evaporates quickly. In no time, you will notice that your wooden blinds covered in the dirt would be as good as new.
