Tips to keep your home clean and tidy at all times.

The less stuff you have, the more tidy and organised your home becomes. Keep it that way with these simple habits. Each one should only take a couple of minutes to complete.

1. Sort your paper mail

Don’t pile up your mail; sort it at once. Throw out advertising letters, put bills and other important papers in a separate folder. This will not only help you keep your house tidy, but also your accounts, which sometimes becomes difficult when your mail is piled up and tangled amongst unimportant or completely unnecessary papers. It’s a five-minute affair that can save you a lot of stress later on.

2. Wash the plates immediately after a meal

Think of it as the last stage of a meal. Washing plates immediately or loading them in the dishwasher will save time. The food particles won’t have time to dry and will be easier to clean. And your kitchen will be clean all day long. It’s a psychological trick to get yourself organised and stop procrastinating. I assure you, you will be glad when you realise that you did the dishes earlier and now you don’t have to worry about it at all.

3. Make your bed.

The bed is the focal point of the bedroom. When it’s made, it has an impact on the mood of the whole room. And if it’s left unmade, it makes the space around it cluttered. So the first step in cleaning the bedroom is to make the bed. And the first step towards living in order is to do it every morning.

Also, to keep not only your house but also your yard in order, you need to turn your attention to a cordless snow blower.

4. Don’t leave things on the kitchen table

Clutter attracts clutter. Stacking things on the kitchen table can quickly turn into chaos. A clean table promotes peace and order. It also encourages you to use it for its intended purpose.

5. Put everything in its proper place in the evening.

Every object in the house should have its purpose and place. Make sure that everything goes back in its proper place at the end of the day. Then you won’t have to look for things in the morning.

6. Don’t put off things you can do in 1-2 minutes.

Procrastination is a result of procrastination. Make a simple rule: if it can be done in two minutes, do it. Take out the rubbish, wash the pot, put the TV remote in its place, put the dirty things in the laundry. This way you avoid sources of clutter.

7.Clean up cluttered areas immediately

Clutter occurs when you have too much stuff piled up in too little space. Too many clothes in a drawer, toiletries in a cupboard, or items on a shelf. Get rid of them as soon as you see them.

Don’t put it off until later. It won’t take more than 15 minutes, but you won’t let the clutter grow.
