The easiest way to get rid of mosquitoes is to avoid standing water in the house. Not to forget, standing water is a cocoon for mosquitoes. They love to feed on dirty water and can survive on it for days. For them, standing water is like a nice pudding they can live on. Contrary to this, rivers and oceans aren’t attractive to them because they’re clean. Mosquitoes love dirty water, so you better get rid of such places where they can hide.

2. Cut Your Grass

Don’t forget, tall grass serves as a habitat for mosquitoes. They can easily hide there and survive for a long time. So if you have tall grass in your backyard, now is the right time to trim it. Secondly, because mosquitoes love to rest in tall grass, your backyard can become a hub for several other insect species. If you ever navigate through the long grass during day time, you will come across several mosquitoes hiding in it.

3. Seek Professional Help

There are several plants that can easily repulse mosquitoes. It is best for you to settle for lemongrass, basil, and lemon balm for your garden.

5. Treat Infected Water

If you cannot avoid standing water very often in your house, consider treating it with pesticides. Check all the hot spots for standing water in your backyard and use a good quality pesticide for spraying. This way, when mosquitoes will feed on dirty water, they will easily fly away. Although this is a weird method to kill them but is worth the effort. There are several ways to get rid of standing water, but this one is the fastest if you want to get rid of mosquitoes easily.
