What to Know When Viewing a New Apartment

in Real Estate

Table of Contents

  • 1. Safety and Security
  • 2. Parking
  • 3. Electricity & Plumbing
  • 4. Amenities And Condition
  • 5. Pets
    • The Bottom Line

When you’re looking to move into a new apartment, many questions come up. How big is the space? Which amenities does it offer? What’s the neighborhood like? Marbella apartments are among the best apartments that offer clean, bright lobbies and hallways designed for ultimate comfort and beauty. However, these are not the only things that we look after before choosing an apartment.

To help make your decision easier, we’ve put together this list of essential factors to consider when you tour a new place.

Let’s take a look at these things.

1. Safety and Security

Security is the essential aspect of choosing an apartment; this is the primary reason we suggest you to Choose Marbella apartment. You must look at the windows and see if they have good locks as well. There should be no signs of entry from outside or inside that might indicate that someone has been in your new apartment before you moved in.

Ensure appropriate fire extinguishers are available near kitchen appliances, such as an oven or stovetop where fires can start quickly. Check for carbon monoxide detectors after seeing what’s stored underneath the sink(s) – things like paint thinner and other flammable liquids need to be kept out of reach of children and pets, but also away from sources of heat (such as water heaters).

2. Parking

If you are staying in a downtown apartment, make sure there is enough parking. Parking can be challenging to find, especially if you have more than one car. Check the surrounding area before moving into any new neighborhood just so that you know what’s available around your place of living.

3. Electricity & Plumbing

When walking through an empty apartment, turn on every single switch and light fixture to see how they work with ease – this will alert you whether or not replacement parts need to be purchased before the moving-in day arrives. Check all appliances included in the sale of your new home for anything unusual; refrigerators should have no rust anywhere along their stainless steel exterior, while dishwashers should run smoothly after filling up with water.

4. Amenities And Condition

Every landlord will mention their amenities, but it’s essential to look at the actual condition of those items. For example, if an oven is included in your lease agreement and you’re moving into a unit with a brand new range, this could be very good for you! But if the stove has been used so much, there are burn marks on its top or bottom surfaces.

5. Pets

Some landlords will allow you to have a pet in their rental unit, but only under certain conditions. If they do not mention anything about having a pet or pets on the premises, it’s probably safe to assume that no pets are allowed in the building. However, some landlords include a no pet policy in their lease agreement, so always ask before bringing your beloved furry friend to live with you.

The Bottom Line

Before you get too excited about your future apartment, make sure to ask yourself these questions. Also, remember that there may be costs associated with moving into a new place, and note how long it takes for repairs or other issues in the building to be resolved before signing on the dotted line.
