Green Strawberry Mango Smoothie

4/1/2019

I turn to smoothies whenever I have excess fruits in the apartment or need to use up greens or berries that are almost spoiled. With spring in the air, I can't help picking up beautiful, ripe strawberries and mangoes! I created a recipe to give you a general guideline of how I made this smoothie but do know you have a lot of creative freedom. Smoothies will taste differently every time based on the ripeness of the fruits and berries and the type of milk you use, so taste and adjust!

Smoothie Tips:
  • Milk/Dairy: I play around with different milks varying from dairy milk to plant-based milks like almond, coconut, and macadamia. Sometimes I'll go half-milk, half-yogurt.
  • Cold: Ripe bananas should go straight to the freezer! It makes a smoothie nice and cold with an extra boost of potassium and flavor. A 1/2 cup of ice is an easy swap for texture and temperature.
  • Seeds: 1 Tbsp of flax or chia seeds adds a good source of omega-3's and fibers.
  • Fruits/Berries: While I used mango and strawberries, play around with whatever you have in your home or at from the store.
  • Sweet: If your fruits and berries are not super ripe, they are less sweet. Adding a Medjool date goes a long way!
